REFLECTION OF THE PAST

Rosalina Oktavia suffered a minor knee injury in 2009 after a motorbike accident. Six years later, in 2015, she underwent a minor operation to fix the damaged tendon on her left knee. The surgeon mistakenly cut her left leg's major vein during the operation, and despite her recovery, she could not feel her left leg or her toes. She was transferred to another hospital, where she was diagnosed with gangrene. After that, she went through 6 extremely painful operations, in which the doctors removed more and more muscle tissue from her leg. Unfortunately, all their efforts were in vain. They told her that, unless they amputated her leg, gangrene would spread throughout her body and she would not be able to live. That was how she became an amputee at age 24.

Initially feeling depressed, Oktavia realized that life continued and she had no choice but to adapt. She decided to focus on what she could do, think positively, and live a happy life, as all humans deserve. It is crucial to understand that everyone is beautiful and can always be proud of themselves, regardless of their disability or physical appearance.
